 About the Book

An OK read at best, The Sky is Red is a dramatic view of the fate of a small Italian city during and after World War 2.I cant say I disliked IT but I didnt enjoy it either. The story started well and had a promising premise but became much too rigid along the way. The whole atmosphere of the ruined city was painted as coming from a post-apocalyptic world, where hope and happiness are illusions, which was clearly not the case back then. More so, presenting the events in a stiff and inexpressive language while demonizing war made the book seem boring and the author weak. And while I like a good sex scene, simply putting such a scene there for the sake of sex doesnt make the story more interesting, it simply makes it look desperate for attention.
